New Work: Union Square Ventures
For the past 15-plus years, Union Square Ventures has been one of the most important venture capital firms in the country and a key player in the NYC start-up ecosystem. With their thesis-driven investments, they have funded waves of innovation that have changed tech, economies, and the broader culture.
Their portfolio of investments include a lot of the “social web” companies that created network effects with their platforms, including Twitter, Etsy, and SoundCloud, companies that drive the infrastructure ecosystem of the current web, such as Twilio, Coinbase, and MongoDB, and a range of companies with their Thesis 3.0, that engage new customer expectations of brands, including Duolingo and Stash.
We were fortunate to be asked to collaborate with USV on a refresh of their web presence by Nick Grossman, Rebecca Kaden, and Bethany Crystal. Working collaboratively with the USV team, we engaged the full firm to define goals for a re-design, establish a UX and content architecture that highlights the firm’s thinking over time and promotes new voices within their network, and create a modernized translation of their digital brand. Check out the results and explore USV’s thinking at the new usv.com.
